The Balearic Islands’ Gathering of Orchestras was born as a need for young music students to strengthen their training in the field of professional orchestras. The invited maestros of this first gathering are: Catalina Sureda, one of the most renowned violinists in Majorca; Esteban Belinchón, cellist specialized in contemporary music; Pere Sansó, flutist of the Municipal Band of Palma; and Ángel Torres, tuba of the Municipal Band of Palma and professor of Tuba at the Higher Conservatory. The invited director will be the young Majorcan Bernat Quetglas, director of the Chamber Orchestra of Mallorca.
