The artist Mar Ripoll, winner of the 2019 Son Carrió Painting Contest, presents the exhibition "Primary Configurations", which can be seen in the exhibition hall of the Auditorium sa Màniga in Cala Millor.
Mar Ripoll studied photography at the Palma School of Art and Design and trained in painting and drawing in different workshops at Casal Balaguer, Massana (Barcelona), Pilar & Joan Miró Foundation, Ses Voltes, Casal Solleric and at Es Baluard, Museum of Contemporary Art in Palma.
In this new exhibition, Mar Ripoll delves into the field of abstract neo-expressionism, emphasizing the symbolic determination of figurative elements for the viewer (similarity).
The relationship between background and stains is kept in tension, leading to the resemblance of recognizable icons. From these, forms of human profiles can be recognized under a subjective gaze.
