Although Handel's Messiah premiered in 1742 in Dublin as an Easter offering to raise funds for the widows and orphans of war heroes, it soon became an undisputed Christmas event, and especially so in the participatory concert format that brings together several choirs and individual singers who share a passion for Messiah, undoubtedly one of the culminating works of the musical repertoire of all time.
The Messiah of the Orfeó Ramon Llull has been performed in very emblematic venues, and last year the tradition of singing this exceptional work every year in the Auditori sa Mániga began.
