The programme that the National Ballet of Marseille will perform is made up of six choreographies, by different authors, with the title of Roommates. We have imagined this program to tell, among others, a story that is like us, and to celebrate the multiple creations of choreographers who have shaped our perspective, who have given us our first emotions and who still accompany us today. We think it's more important than ever to pay tribute to them with this show.

 

Some of these pieces have greatly marked the history of the National Ballet of Marseille, such as Les Indomptés, by Claude Brumachon. Also, the Concerto, by Lucinda Childs, or A room with a view, by (LA)HORDE. In addition, we present three other choreographies: Weather is sweet, taken from the piece Age of Content, which is the last choreographic piece that (LA)HORDE created in 2023; Lazarus, by Oona Doherty; and Grime Ballet (dance because you can't talk to animals), by Cecilia Bansolea and François Chaignaud.

 

For this programme we have imagined a multigenerational group made up of apprentice dancers from the National Ballet of Marseille, accompanied by older dancers, in a process of sharing and transmitting.
